My Story

"The Mass is the most important and beautiful experience you will have all week." I tell my children this as we walk out the door on Sunday morning each week to a parish that welcomes children even when they are young, even when they are crabby, and even when our children's liturgies have gone on summer vacation. I tell them this because I know the Liturgy of the Word holds such wisdom. I tell them this because I know the Liturgy of the Eucharist is the most special gift we were given by our Father.  And I tell them this because I believe it.  But I know there has to be more than just their mother and their father believing it if they are going to hold the Mass dear in their hearts, and keep it with them as they grow, and stick with it as they leave home. For this to happen, they have to believe it themselves. And for them to believe it themselves, I know I have to engage them now. From toddlers to teenagers, I have always longed to make a connection during the Mass for my children, but I cannot do it for them. They have to witness what is happening on that altar as the wonderful miracle that it is. To do that, they must be paying attention. And to pay attention, sometimes they need a little help.  And that is why Your Passport to Journey with Jesus was born.
